bung placement? - chevy tbi o2 sensor

Bung. I am going from a dual exhaust to a y-pipe-single. Should i put the o2 sensor on 1 bank of the y-pipe or at the collector where they meet?

EDIT: I have a heated o2 sensor.

If it were me, I'd put it at the y-piipe union. That way it sees what both banks are doing....Now I know the early ones had the O2 in the driver's exh manifold, but my '92 was at 3" after the y-pipe union; I don't think it really matters; I guess it's where it fits best in your application.....

I'd say just aft of the Y so the 02 sees all cylinders

Definitely after the Y, since it's heated.
