Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

Hey all,
I just got done buying my new camper today. What does this have to do with any of this???

Well the person I bought the camper from works for the Eburg Chamber of Commerance. And of course as things always go we started talking Jeeps. Well he said to let everyone know, there is going to be at least one person opposing the site at the meeting Tuesday. I guess a local Realtor who wants to develop the local land will be there too.

So I am coming and will have my little person with me. Hopefully it won't last too long she has to get up for school.

Where/when is everyone meeting to take a tour of the rock crawl area?

I want to make this tonight but since I am a single dad I worry about bringing my daughter to this. I hope enough people show up.
I will have to think about it and see if I can figure out how to be there.

We will be meeting at the Rodeo Fairgrounds across from the college at 4:00, from there we will go to the proposed rockcrawling event site, then to the meeting with the Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce(7:00). Rich said there are people opposed to 4x4 events at this location, and a nice group of fellow fourwheelers showing up to support him would be great!

God Dammit!!!!!!!!!

I was there.... we lost cause we might stress out some jackasses..... yes I mean donkeys:haha: There was obviously more to it than that, but bottom line Kittitas' procedure seemed shady and unclear about their initial expectations.

:booo:

Jesus-H-Christ!!! We just can't win, can we?

And I was REALLY looking forward to the short drive-time for this one.

All of the surrounding property owners were at the meeting and did not want a large event held on this piece of land. They were not against having it closer to town, away from their animals and property. It seems that a motorcross enduro race a couple years ago ruined it for us.

It appeared that it was a zoning/ land designation issue first and foremost, as that zone was not to be used for a commercial use (i.e. a non-profit could hold an event). The concerns of the community could have been worked past but this technicality basically kept it from getting to the stage of debate, just automatically denied.

There was also a motorcycle desert race that caused alot of damage a number of years ago, and when people heard their might be a trials race they were not happy.

Fuk that BS...!

I hope you not sayin that it got shut down cuz of dirtbikes...!? WHY THE F*** are dirtbikes an issue? If that was a major problem they should have scratched that idea... An event like this would bring lots of money to town... then maybe they could buy custom animal ear plugs ha... I'M PISSED! :booo: :puke:  :booo: :puke:

Motor cycles fawk it up for everyone. I saw an article in the paper that their going to start cracking down on the noisey bikes.

Bring it to horn rapids orv park in Richland. OG was talking about putting a man made course there a few years ago... Its privatized now too so it'd be super easy and all the necessities of a big group of people are right there...

Portland International Raceway in (obviously) Portland. Look into it. A ton of unused land. Already has a motorcross track. Great way to attract a large crowd if marketed right.

They are still trying, the Rich's and E-burg are still looking for a location in and or around E-burg. Let's wait until we hear from them.

The trials bikes were not a dealbreaker, the dealbreaker was that zone could not be used to hold "commercial events". The city admin showed Rich the airport and then said hey, this site may be even better. But in reality that site could not from a legal standpoint be used in the first place.

Most of the neighbors had never heard of rockcrawling before, but they reffered to their bad experiences with the desert 100 race CROWD, from camping, tresspassing, ect.

Another point that was made was there will always be someone immediately opposed to the idea, but after they see that the event is well managed, cleaned up, good for the economy ect, they support it in the later years (which I am told is the case with the Goldendale community)
