CB Owners: Need Help

Guys over the weekend I put a Galaxy 44 in the ol Yota..

The CB puts out well and everything is on par with it BUT I have a problem.

This am I went out to do some more testing and noticed when I fired the truck out and turned it on I had extreme engine noise coming from the CB. I ran the leads straight to the battery so I am a little confused on how it can be happening.

My only idea is antenna grounding issue.....or.....plug wire touching body? Not sure given I am an amateur CB guy and reply on my older friends to help me out with it.

You need a noise filter for the 12v power leads....probably noise coming from the alternator.

Man thanks for posting that link. This just goes in between the leads to cancel the alternator noise correct?

Are they always 100% successful? Have you ever ran one?

Ive installed several over the years in different setups. Usually eliminates most of the noise.

Usually noise is from the alt. I'd try running a few new ground wires from the engine to batt, and from batt to frame rail. In most cases the noise suppressor is a bandaid
