Compact Concealed carry gun opinions.

So you want a gun for concealed carry that is not a full size nor pocket gun. Options are only 9mm or 40SW, saying that what is your choice and why? I am a glock guy but am thinking about another gun outside that brand as I already have a few of them 19/23 that I am not selling. One that comes to mind is the S&W M&P/shield as I shot one the other day and I kinda took a liking to it. Oh yea your budget is 650.00, so what's your pistol of choice NNW?

I have a glock 22 40cal and love it but not to carry. The two guns I choose to carry that I have are my m&p shield 40 or my keltec pf-9. Keltec is smaller but I really like the shield.

I like my XD9 its like my wallet. Its not to heavy and i believe its the 3.5" barrel. I wouldn't mind if it was single stack so's to be a tad lighter but i have gotten used it.

I have different guns for different occasions. In the woods I have my 23 or 19, and in working environment mostly you will find a S&W bodyguard in a DeSantis pocket shot holster. In the pocket it looks like a billfold, and shoots out of holster. Pretty nice little shooter. Just am craving something to add to the stable in a bigger caliber. Crash those XD's are nice also from what I hear, Nosey I am liking the Shield also.

I know its a cheap gun but I like my keltec sub 9. I work and play in a dirty environment and the gun has never jammed or given me any issues.

A gun needs to be reliable if ever needed. Cheap or not, the best gun is the one your carrying that goes boom.

I sold a 27 a while ago and regret it, nice gun. Saying that I will be picking up a 26/27 when the deals pop up.

Some people like Glocks some dont, but one thing for sure is its hard to find a more reliable gun on the market.

SIG P938. Great little single-stack 9mm. I like that it has a "real" safety vs. those trigger or grip safety systems on other guns.

I have a glock 26. I like the gun and have never had problems with it. I was hoping it would be small enough for easy carry and big enough to have fun shooting. The problem with trying to accomplish too much is you end up doing everything poorly.

It is too thick for this fat guy to inside the parts carry and is bulky in coat pockets. Even with the extended clip, it doesn't shoot nearly as good as a full frame gun.

I wish I had a G42.

If you don't mind revolvers, I bought one of these for my dad and in my opinion are the ultimate conceal carry. Light and small.

I carried a g42 for a while and really liked it. I only sold it because of the cost of .380 . Since it's getting colder out and i'm wearing jackets and hoodies i carry my g19. Next spring i will probably get a g43 for a edc summer gun.

I've got a cheapo Taurus TCP which has been good to me when I need a really compact gun. My preference is my pre-lock 642 Smith though. If I'm heading up north I'll bring my USP Compact, but it is a bit bulky to carry all the time.

9mm.

I have quite a few pistols, and the 9 is far easier to shoot than the 40.
Regarding concealed carry, I'd choose a single stacked magazine, as they tend to have a slimmer profile, which is easier to conceal, and less likely to dig into your hip, or gut, or wherever.

That typed, I still prefer a Smith .38 revolver for concealed carry.

I carry a s&w sheild in 40 most days, it's kind of a hand full at the range but it shoots accurate and conceals well. I carry mostly front pocket but it works well iwb also.

Seriously, at a $650 budget, just pick whatever glock, m&p, or xd you shoot best with. I'd buy any of those 3, but would pass on the 42/43 and the shield. Single stack is cool, but the reason to carry a 9 is the added capacity. If not why not just get a revolver in whatever caliber you want.

With me I get guns for specific situations per say bsides jus likeing them. I already have a hicap 9 (G19), hicap 40 (G23), 380, and 45. Was just looking to add something outside of the glock family, cooling off now tho may just get a 26/27 and call it done. Just curious what others carry and why. Carry on...

Between all my guns, I pack my LCP .380 the most. Super easy to conceal, looks like a cell phone in my pocket. When in doubt, I have the LCP in pocket, and the Taurus .40 elsewhere.

I was in the gun shop last week and saw a nice used compact Kel-Tec 9mm that I really liked ... it was about 1/2 way between my LCP and my .40 but couldn't get **** for customer service so I left and didn't buy ****...

FN P40. for outdoors activities and personal defense. I like it better than the Glock, as it's a double action pistol.

Glock 19 for outdoors activities and personal defense at night, as I've got a laser sight, and works well.

Smith and Wesson 38, five shot revolver, for concealed carry. Small. Light weight. And you can shoot it thru your pocket since there's no slide.

Smith and Wesson K-frame, 44 Mag, for hunting season, when weather is nice. Carry a mix of bird-shot and slugs.

1911 Long-slide, stainless, (made by AMT) for hunting season, when weather sucks. Carry a mix of bird=shot and slugs.

Beretta .22, when I want to plink around.

I used to rotate between an M&P Shield 40/9 and a Sig P938 until I found out about the Taurus G2 Millenium 9mm. Darn thing is more accurate than my Shield's and holds more rounds. Even with more rounds it is only slightly bigger than the Shield. Best part is that I payed a little more than $200 for it.

I've been carrying an XD40 sub compact for a couple years now, it's the only hand gun that has consistently stayed in my safe since it's arrival while others have come and gone. I did texture the frame and do what SA calls a "high ride" mod to let my hand sit higher on the gun since it's pretty snappy. I am probably going to grab a pocket gun for the summer time though since when it's 90 out having a plastic gun rubbing on my side starts to suck. If I were to go out right now and buy a brand new carry gun though it would probably be an XDS in 9mm just for the cheaper ammo.

The CZ 75 P01 is definitely worth a look, it's by far the most comfortable pistol I've ever held.
