Crawler hauler

A friend of mines dad had a exevation business a few years back but when the economy went south everything was sold except two semi trucks and one 40 something foot equipment trailer. We got the idea to use it to haul a few rigs but it hasn't been tagged or insured since the other equipment was sold. So what's the cheapest way to get this thing on the road for occasional use? I'm ready to hear that old Detroit screaming on the way to gray rock

If it is running. Get it register as an RV or talk to them at the tag office and tell them you use it to haul a race car. Make sure you tell them it is "NOT FOR HIRE".

Who do you get to insure something like that? I'm in GA and haven't been able to get a real good answer on this
