So on another Forum I frequent they have a thread on there where everyone links the craziest Wikipedia Pages they run across. It was pretty cool to see some of the crazy stuff out there in the world. I will start it off with a few and see where it goes from there.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokushinbutsu

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donner_Party

Sokushinbutsu is practiced today. I watched a Discovery show about a monk who i in the process right now. They interviewed him, his family, etc.

I'm not sure if you're looking for stuff no one had heard about before or stuff that is just plain crazy, but I have always had this fascination and deep fear of burning to death. It's why my recent rigs have had crazy fire suppresion systems and why I would read this wiki:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-immolation

It's even worse since people still practice it and there are real videos of it on Youtube.

I spent entirely too much time reading up on the Donner Party. But it's one of those things where you think you know the story but then there's a lot more to it.

X2
I started out just scanning then realized I didn't know hardly anything on it except the basics, so I read pretty much the whole thing. Interesting to say the least.

We went to Donner pass when I was a kid so I have always had a pretty big facination with it buy they lived a true nightmare. It says the kids were trying to eat the leather souls off the rescuers shoes.

Cannibalism from the Donner family has lead me to this one. Another one that I didn't know much about other than the basic but disturbing parts. Before my time. It's crazy how in depth this article gets.

This one is pretty crazy. 3 of the people died of fatal blows that destroyed bones but did no soft tissue damage. One of the peoples tongue was missing looking like it had been ripped out. The tore there tent open from the inside and left on there own accord barefooted in a snow storm.

This is where I work. What's crazy is all the info it gives. Most of us have a clearance and I learned a lot of stuff from reading part of it.

I've seen shows on that as well. There's tons of bizarre factors about it.

Snow-squatch sounds so much kewler though!
Snow squatch sounds like a dirty hooker that you do in the back alley of a bar behind the dumpster on a cold northern night. :)
