Dana 300 4-1 LoMax gears

So just how loud should these gears be? Most noticeable in 3rd about 15ish mph.

While I don't have any...every rig that I have ridden in that does, is a growling kitty.

What oil you running? I've had a few sets of each and both were pretty comparible in the gear whine dept. neither were what I would think to be excessive.

Just standard 80-90w.


And it just might be normal but I can hear it without having to listen for it. But I am also damn near sitting on the t-case.

I am thinking if it was in my old toy it would be hardly noticeable but damn near sitting on my t-case I suspect thats making it easier to hear.

Yeah that's .probably what's going on.. aluminum isnt a great noise suppressor. Might try a royal purple/redline or something synthetic.. that will help quiet it down a little.
