I just had to rebuild my Dana 300
After two rides it was full of automatic trans fluid. When it was built the seal at the transfer case was replaced. There is not a seal in the adaptor (do not know the name brand of the adaptor). The adaptor has to get trans fluid to it from what I can tell cause it has a shaft and a bearing in it and that would be the only way it could get any lubrication.
The seal in the transfer case looked okay. I am having to replace the case due to a crack in the top. It was not obvious on the first build of it after busting a Terra low kit but I guess it was a hairline crack and it opened up once the new gears was installed and it was rode a fewtimes. It never leaked at the crack we just noticed the crack when we pulled the transfer case to try and find out why it was getting trans fluid in the case.
Anybody have any ideas why I am getting the trans fluid in the case?
