It's been a long hot miserable summer here in Florida and work has been crazy bz. With school starting back now, pre season football games on, and fall just around the corner im really looking forward to a little solitude in a deer stand this year. These days I pass way more deer than I shoot....I just like the time out I'm forced to take from the rat race of life when I climb in that stand. I just wish I could hunt more than I do. All that being said here's a couple of my favorite spots on family land in Arkansas. ...yeah I know I'm an Arkantard.

You'd love it down here....we loaded up with boars in North fl
Oh yeah we are too up here. I just haven't taken time to go to the woods the last couple years.

Been practicing with different guns to mix things up a bit.

Ruger Super Blackhawk is going to be my weapon of choice this year I think.

Loaded the oversized 4 wheeler, headed to deer camp for scouting and to hang some stands last week!

Been seeing some monster deer on the family land. Looking forward to leaving the grind of town and lounging around the woods.

Now I just gotta get my new barrel and sights for my 10 mm so I can get some more practice in.

We need to duck hunt again too 1tonyj...

Maybe since I hooked the caretaker of that land in your pics up with that raccoon slaying ar pistol I can get an invite to one of those stands too lol.

I've got the weirdest place. I have a pair of bald eagles nesting at the end of my lake behind the house. They had two young this year and I can stand under the tree by my dock with both adults and one young in a tree above me and they will not fly. I'm talking 20 ft up. This morning I had nine deer, two were bucks, and with them were three big Tom turkeys. Can't sleep for coyotes. Waiten on bear tracks.

My cousin in Arkansas. ....first blood this past Sunday.

Ray, it takes a special someone to be elevated to rank of Arkantard. Unfortunately, I don't think you made the cut. Also looks like Arkansas has some nice deer, so it isn't all bad. Lastly, I laugh every time I read your sig. molaugh

Damn......guess I got some work to do on my arkantard status lol.

get that buggy done and let's meet on the trail and do some wheeling beerj :dblthumb:

Re: Deer season

Not technically a deer but I always start my season in the Pronghorn field.

We hunted hard to get my kiddo a beast of a pronghorn and I put a long crawling stalk on my 2nd largest ever. Both will land in the Texas Big Game book.

Wow!....nice speed goats!

We used to shoot prairie dogs up around Dumas and that area was loaded with them.

Hard to find there horns even like that. Usually one is broken. That is some good eating also.

Amazing how fast they are.
