Sold/Expired Dual Sport Trip - April 15-19 (Thursday-Monday) 2010 Williamsville, MO

Re: Dual Sport Trip - Spring 2010

Got Crystals's approval to go. :woot:

All I need now is a bike. Everybody keep there eyes open for a good deal. Would really like to wait till after first of year to buy, but if its a good deal I will go for it. Also would like a XR650L, not shure if my knees could take ridin and kick startin all day.

Re: Dual Sport Trip - Spring 2010

I'm trying to wait till mid winter to buy one. I would think the prices would come down a little. I am still not sure what I want though. I'm leaning towards a xr650L or a DR650.
There should be lots of good riding in southern MO and Northern AR or KY and TN. I will try to find some info on ADVrider.
We could also run the TAT from Jellico through Arkansas.

Can't argue with you there one bit.

I have a husky hardon and will not say anything bad about them yet...plus you can find DEALS on them....bad is the dealer is 4+ hrs away. Most have never been back since purchasing theirs so I decided to take that risk.

I was thinking about riding this Yamaha. It seems to fit me pretty well.

I can't speak for the XR650L but the DR650 I just got is sweet! all but the seat. The stock seat sucks! my ass hurts after about an hour. The first aftermarket part I buy for the bike will be the corbin seat. I would have bought an xr but I could not find a newer one in my price range. I saw 02-06 for 3500 to 5k and right now the stealer ship down the street has 09 DR650's on sale for 4699.00 I bought my 05 DR650 mint condition (never off-road) for 2500.

Re: Dual Sport Trip - Spring 2010

I have never sat on a Corbin seat I liked. Had two different styles on my KLR over 20K miles and one on my Triumph (borrowed) and hated it all of them

Look into www.alaskaleather.comhttp:// for a cover. I use this on long trips and for $60 it's a bargain.

That looks nice but, does it really make that much of a differance? I don't really see how it would be more comfortable?

Re: Dual Sport Trip - Spring 2010

I had a Corbin on this bike awhile and hated it... went back to the stocker.

YES it makes a HUGE difference in monkey butt and comfort. 3K miles in 7 days.....I ride a lot and 750 mile days we tough, but my bum was still okay to hit the gay bars that night. loller.gif
