ECU question

Just recently posted a want ad for a Ford 5.8 ECU. Having a hard time finding a Speed Density 5.8 ECU with manual trans application. Since Pick-n-Pull is having their 50% off sale I figure I'd chance using a computer from an automatic.

1. I've run an OBD1 Jeep 4.0 auto computer with both auto and manual and it ran just fine regardless of which trans they had behind them. I'm wondering if the Ford's are the same.

2. This is a beater truck that I just need to get running and moving under it's own power. IDGAF about check engine lights or other stuff right now.

truck is a 1992 F250 with speed density 5.8 & ZF5, can anyone tell me if this will thing will at least run with a non-manual ECU???

It will run but it won't drive right without tuning it and by the time you get set up to tune one you could just buy a re-man. They're less than 200 bucks from Rock Auto.
