I am wiring my buggy and need to hook up the check engine light. I have it hooked to the computer my question is do I ground the other side or run it to 12v positive.

Second question. I have my starter bolted up. I hooked up the positive lead from the battery to the free large post and immediately it starts cranking. That's without power to the solenoid? What did I do wrong?

This is all on a tpi 350

Thanks guys. Turns out my solenoid was locked open for some reason. I ran power through the ignition circuit to the small post and it freed up and seems to be working good now.

Thanks on the check engine light! Don't know why that was so hard to find the answer to.

Last question. I'm wireing the coil up and the coil instructions say to wire the negative wire from the distributer to the negative pole on the solenoid. And then the positive wire from the distributor on the positive side. Then do I run an ignition 12 volt to the positive side also? Or am I way off all together?
