Me not being a regular Evans user I've stayed away from this one but......I do think there needs to be a time when volunteers say no if they don't agree with what is going on and have good reason to not agree. Having said that Brian you really need to stop talking out of you ass and get over it. If the gang bangers want in Evans filling in one hole isn't going to make a huge difference. This isn't a WOW vs PNW issue. If WOW wants to get involved and try to make things different then more power to them.:cheer: Thing is it's going to take a commitment from the volunteers to make that happen. Being a web tard and bitching on the internet isn't going to make anything happen.

It kinda is a pnw vs wow. New schoolers vs old schoolers. The wow people are more open to challanging trails and cordinate that into work parties to do just that and what forrest service or DNR want. PNW is working with them to make trails easier and my guess is that the forestry people want to do this as thats the way they are led by the pnw. But what do I know....Im just a web wheeler.

went up their today in my 1986 honda accord. drove right up the 311 and tured around. i think my 1/4 mile gravel driveway is more difficult. i forgot my camera tho bringing it next time. I voite shut it down. leave it to the horse people.

this is a bunch of crap just like bobby said. i think that was a great gate keeper but leave it to the pnw (pacific nazti wannabe's ) to ruin it for the real trail enthusiasts. if you see someone making a bypass just kick the **** out of them.

IT's not PNW leading the way for the decisions made by FS (DNR in our case up here); I am a PNW member, and fight for harder trails whether I can make them or not, the hardcore rigs/buggies deserve a place to wheel just as much as the next guy/gal...

Are you an old school jeeper Kevin......90% of the pnw down here are and are against big tired rigs. This is why we have width restrictions and tire size restrictions being brought up.. I know you well enough that I know you dont prevoke these kinda of things.

If one wants to change the thinking of what the higher ups bring down as a decision, get involved some way, some how, and bring something intelligent to the table, instead of pointing fingers at him/her/them....

Nope, I'm not...My point is, it's not the PNW leading the FS by the hand in their decision making...It is the higher ups that probably have never seen the trails first hand that are making the decisions for the people on the ground...We deal with the same stuff with DNR up here, and it has been said that the decision on what to do about an issue isn't coming from them, but from above...

This post in a nutshell shows just how little you really know about whats going on in our sport :booo::booo:

Just one person isnt going to make a difference Kevin. My voice will not be heard if I was to speak up. People like Jim( nothing against him as we are friends away from here) dont see things the way most of us younger people see them. There for dont care what most of us think as they have put in more YEARS than the younger folks and dont want change. So when the Forestry service asks how we can make things better ....In their opinion making trails easier and filling in hard obsticles is what is heard because they have put in the YEARS of service helping them. Again this is how I feel and I could be totally out of line here.

They do see them first hand and thats exactly where this all came from. Jim Franzel, The head ranger for the Mt Baker Snouqalmie forset was down at Evans a couple of weeks ago looking over the area due to the new improvement plan. He seen the entrance to the 311 and was not happy. This is the reason why it is what it is today. Some of these web clowns want to make it look like a big conspiricy but its all pretty simple. The FS is responsible to manage their (our) lands by the laws and regulations on the books today. If these means we have to do some things that some people may not like than so be it. If it keeps the trail open its worth a little give and take.

This is stupid. I am willing to be that with in the next couple of months two things will happen. 1) Someone with a rig that should not be on 311 (and with the gate keeper would not have made it in) is going to A: Make another bad bypass farther down the trail. B) Roll down the hill climb due to inexperience and get hurt or worse. 2) Those rock will be all over the place and become more of an eye sore then the trail. And what the hell is that all about anyway? Do these morons really think that people in an off road park care that the trail they are about to wheel looks really bad? NO they look at it and say "Damn that looks like fun"!! And by the way those who think it was too hard to make need to stay at the mall. I made that in my zook the first time I ever wheeled it. Muddy with A/T's and about 20psi one locker. I even ran my old toyota up it open open on BALD A/T's. If I were asked to fill it with rocks and turn it into a "Nice looking road" then I would have walked off.:flipoff:

(PNW consists of old schooler jeepers)

Im sure there were a few jumpers there.

I really wish we could step away from the old stereotypes...both associations have great people that are trying to work together.

Just because we don't drive the exact same rigs doesn't mean we can't agree to disagree & find a way for everyone to have a little fun. Not every buggy driver is a careless young punk & not every SWB flatty driver is a crusty old timer.

Everyone needs to stop being selfish and figure out how to work together :awesomework:

We need more folks to get involved, try to see it from another point of view, inject an opinion & work towards a solution that will work.

We need some variety to allow different folks to have an experience. Some trails should be hard core rock...some should be narrow tight SWB...some should be full size friendly...some should be easy.

Am I excited that this particular trail got rocked in...nope.
Am I going to sit here & bitch on the internet...nope.
Am I going to stay involved so that my opinion & voice is heard...yep.

To everyone reading this...we may not agree on every topic/issue, but I encourage you to get involved, let your voice be heard & become part of the solution.

You do know that there were WOW people at the work party too??

Exactly...we are always willing to lend a hand :awesomework:

And myself, knowing both you and Jim well enough,...having had the pleasure of wheeling with Jim (he was my winch biotch at TJ last yr!:fawkdancesmiley: and will be again this yr!:stirpot:), and he is not one to try and sway a decision for FS to hand down...in fact we talked quite a bit while out on the trail, and he is not opposed to hard trails at all. The way you make it sound is that he's (or people like him) dead set against change....
If you want to be heard, get involved and make the commitment to stay involved--again somehow, some way...if you are persistent, even one voice (or two--point is a small group) can make a difference---trust me, I know.

Yea thats why I was one of the first people to donate to the rock fund for the rainer vista project. Quite honestly Brian you just dont get it. Your too stuck in your world of little tire big tire to see the big picture. I am for all types of legal wheeling. There should be trails for every use out there in appropiate places. When a trail was built for a certain type of user then its not really right to make it so they cant use it anymore. If you really wanted these tough hardcore trails that you speak of then you would do more to make it happen then just badmouthing people on the forums. The existing trails are here because a lot of people really cared and they got off their asses and did the work to make it happen. They deserve to have these trails usable to them. Build your rig to fit the trail dont overbuild and then expect the trail to change for you.

I was at one point involved Kevin. My opinion was to much and was disliked from the president and kinda pushed a side. I went to an elbe work party not being involved in either pnw or wow. When I can get further involved i will....as you know already some stuff in my life has been turned upside down. :;

I guess I stand corrected....but doesn't Jim F have someone to answer to above??? Yes, I agree that they (Fs) will make a decision based on the laws and regulations of today...some folks won't like it, I also agree---I mentioned before about becoming involved, some how some way....

Yup I know.:; Whatever happened then, maybe could be a learning experience, and someday when you're life's ready to take on something else with a full head of steam; you'll be able to commit and figure out a way to make a difference in what you believe in...:awesomework:

He's the head ranger for the area. of course he has bosses above him but basicly he's the boss for the Mt baker snouqalmie forest.
