Going to be skinning my roof with some aluminum soon.

What are you people using for fasteners? Rivets, self tappers, etc?

Will be a solid panel over the top of the thing. Will also probably put down some tape to keep the rattles down.

Rig for reference.

Just weld some small tabs and use small (1/4 or 5/16) carriage bolts.

Dont drill tappers or rivets into the tube. The tubes will eventually fill with water and freeze and swell/split.

Tabs and bolts, it's the most important panel on the car, make sure the aluminum is atleast .125" thick too.

My rig never leaves the garage...so no worry about water intrusion :D6

Great link for those PEM tabs Jay. Thank you very much. I was hoping for the easy way...since I am lazy. But I suppose I can put my nuts back in my panties and throw on a handful of tabs :D

.125 is definitely in the plan.

Nice Pic there Harvester! :awesomework::redneck:

Thanks for spreading out your lumber for me on the teeter totter! It was nice to put a face to a name as well.
