Gas Prices as of 8-5-08

Just curious since I am traveling soon what price are where you are at.

It is 3.75 here today and last weekend between me and Des Moines at that new Newton Speedway gas was 3.49! Nice drop, LIttle more in Des Moines.

So wondering how much more it's gonna be out east/SE on my trip. Talked to a guy at a station Saturday coming from Ohio and said he saw it as high as 4.10, unsure if that on this trip or just this summer's high for him.

Yeah I am bored. And even at $0.25/gal more it's only a dollar more to fill.

It is in the 3.70's here but going to Harlan we hit a section of hwy on the TN/KY border and it was 3.40 and Diesel was 4.14, hopefully those prices are coming our way.....

I know oil was down about 5 bux to 121.xx a barrell yesterday. Maybe we will get some sustained lower fule pricing soon :afro:

My dad just filled up diesel $4.28... DAYUMMM... I Paid $3.99 for 92 octane the other day--so I think reg is down to $3.79?

I monitor the prices for Flying J here in Jackson, MS everyday lately just to see the changes. Their prices lately have changed pretty much on a daily basis on the weekdays. Headed over in about an hour to fill up with diesel at $4.19 a gallon. Regular unleaded as of now is $3.49 a gallon.

True, there are refineries all over, but 9 of the Top 15 refineries in the US are within an hour and half drive of Houston if not in Houston. We have the majority of the refining capacity on the country right here in southeast Texas on the gulf coast.

Shell's tank farm in Pasedeana, just a mile or so further east from downtown as the above pic.

Routinely we have the cheapest fuel int he country, so I'm really surprised we haven't seen prices come off here yet, may have something to do with gouging due to a Tropical Storm would be my guess.

If it's stick at 3.50 for a long time, I'd be content anymore. It'll never get lower.

Wyatt, do you know were 15555 Vickery is in Houston ? A bunch of ste's I gather, Continental has a shipping hub in the area and whatever as well.

Tim ( parts broker I deal with all the time and shoot the **** with ALOT ) lives out by Lake Houston and whatever, Im tryin to get AirMed to foot the fuel bill on me going down for a business trip for contract re-newal if I cover accomadations on sleep arrangements ( Stay at your place and or Tims place ) Be a good way to knock out alot of things in one trip and get the 49 laughing1

You know my dad is in airplane parts? Import Export Aviation. He specializes in finding parts for airlines of all scales and nationalities.
He's still heavily involved in energy, but went in with another guy to start this up, and its taken off the past two years.
