GT Buggy 2.0 caddy 500 build

Finally got the front finished up and the new tube will act as the strut mount. Had to do about 20 iterations to figure out how to get the strut to clear everything. In trying to avoid pushing it up we will end up mounting it on the ram mount.

Guess you don't plan to go fast since you are using air shocks?
Bought the oris two years ago and never used them. I want to see how they do. If I don't like them them then I'll go coils.

If they're two years old I would consider sending them to ORI for a high-temp seal upgrade. They had a bad batch of seals around that time; they paid to have mine shipped to them, repaired and sent back in two weeks.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll call them and see if mine were part of that batch. How do you like your oris? I have several buddies with them and they like them and like the ability to change settings all the time with the nitrogen.

I love them on Bombshell. The ride is so smooth and once you figure where to set the nitrogen they're super easy to tune. Bombshell, in one day, was flexing out trail riding, bouncing up nasty ledges and jumping tabletops on a motocross track getting 3-4' of air! All while riding like a Cadillac. If I blow another coilover on my buggy I'll probably switch over to ORI.

Not much visual progress but have finished up a bunch of small tubes. Will be a roller hopefully next weekend.

Got the trans rebuilt and back from Ptc. I got it swapped from a 27 spline to 32 to mate it to the 205. Got the 205 tcase back together with a custom adaptor and had to modify a long input shaft to mate to a power glide. That was fun...had to cut of 1.25" off the long input to make it work. Used a drill and a die grinder cut off wheel.

Looks really good. It may be an optical illusion, but is the roof completely open?

Hah you are correct. Haven't finished that yet. Needed to paint to get motor back in and went spray happy on a little too much.
