Christians are the people who DON'T steal broken generators out of your carport. Non christians are !!!!

I would have posted this last night but I was spending quality time with my family. :D

First off one of the a$$hats that was a part of the generator stealing comes from a "religious" family. His sister was in my class in high school and she was one of the most religious people I know. So I find your comment pretty awesome...Where's your religion and morals here?

Secondly, I am not against religion per se...but I am against organized religion. I think one should be able to believe what they want without the fear of being judged. It seems that those who are a part of organized religion are the quickest to judge a person without even knowing them.

I know you've heard it enough that grouping all us "non christians" together was offensive and wrong but I have to agree with everyone else. I'm a "non christian" and I certainly know right from wrong. I try to be a good person morally speaking. I've had experiences with "good christians" who follow the laws and are those good people...They are the biggest hypocrites I know. They judged me before they even met me. What does that make them?

Moving on, I think the biggest factor in societal degradation is the gradual elimination of a common ethos in a move toward secular humanism. When a society's morals have no firm basis, the definitions are left open to interpretation by individuals. What we are seeing is the 'answer' to the age-old philosophical question that plagues humanism (paraphrased): "If what's true for you is true for you and what's true for me is true for me, what happens when your truth says that my truth is wrong?" If truth is something to be interpreted by everyone as they see fit, it's not really truth, is it?

I can't.

Some might call my position closed-minded, but that's entirely too simple an explanation because it implies that I don't care what others believe. The reality is that my convictions are deeply-seated within my person. They are always open to revision, but there is a significant lack of sincerity on a forum such that it does not lend itself well to these kinds of discussions. I'm certainly willing to listen to and discuss anyone else's viewpoint or belief and would never attempt to invalidate it. And if someone genuinely is interested in what I believe, then I'll freely share. But otherwise, what's the point? A lot of wasted keyboard battery life.

As opposed to the completely illogical "it's all relative" notion? Then yes.

The term 'relative' logically establishes a position based on a relation to some known point. If there is no known point (or it is not the same known point) then it can't be 'relative'.
