No clubs for me. I just want to wheel, I'll go on trail maintenance runs and cleanups but I wheel with no politics or worry about such things.

Some of you seem to be soured towards 4x4 clubs......lets hear some stories/examples.

I went to a Timber Tamers meeting in Kirkland back in '99, when I first started wheelling, and meet some Tamers. I really just wanted to meet other's to wheel with. I went on few runs and had a good time. But never put in the effort to become a member. i.e. - earn the coveted inner circle status.

I also hung out with the old 2BigBroncos club a couple times after that.

Meh.....I wasn't looking for a "club" I guess.

met up with the timberwolves once. just by chance. ran with them for the day. pretty cocky, and alot of BIG talk......for a bunch of STOCK rigs. dont remember any names, or details. they gave me a "club" card. the top of it read: "you have been assisted by...."

just gave me a bad "taste" for clubs...

hm..as an after thought...i hope it wasnt any of you.:fawkdancesmiley:

went wheelin with the CORE group once and didn't seem all that friendly,,,,and wasn't into the prayer thing that they did,,,,,,:kissmyass:

Used to be a member of a vehicle specific club.... a long time ago. It was good at the time, and active. Meet many folks that I still socialise, wheel and consider friends that I would have otherwise probably never meet. So it was good for that.

Then politics entered the club, things got mess and things just faded away pretty much. The "club" still exists, with a couple of old-time members. I guess I'm still a de facto member, but nothing official.

Seems that clubs where big, good 5-10 years ago. Then the Internet rolled in, the old clubs that didn't embrace it folded for the most part, and people got busy and other priorities (right now for me its family).

However I found I didn't need a club to wheel. I've meet many folks wheeling that I could call to bail me out, or find a buddy to wheel with, or know of a guy in the area....

Internet clubs are easier right now. Web wheeling is much easier, cleaner and cheaper than building a new wheeler that holds up to my expectations..... at least for now, hopefully when the kids get a little older the "wrenching time" will increase again and I'll get more back in the game on a more regular basis. Heck, I might even join a "club" :D :haha:

Shocker 4x4
which of course will probably be added to the non-PC names, however - we don't care much about that whole PC thing either.

We would rather spend our time having fun at Reiter, cleaning up the crap that others seem to leave behind as well as helping out those we find stuck here and there instead of making a bunch of people we don't know happy with our name...
