Sorry sap, I hate to break it to you but that buggy weighs a lot more than that. I'll have to look through my notes when I get home, and see if I can find the numbers.
Unless you've changed the axles out for some toyotas.

You must be thinking of the blue buggy. I think it was around 3100 lbs.

Fj axles 22rt/aw4/dana300. Most cage is .120 wall parts are .188 wall mainly lower frame rail and under belly. Full wet weight 12 gal of fuel also.

Looks like going tons is 1000 extra pounds. Over 1/3 of a stock yota. I never would have thought it was that much. :o

Wondering if the ton Toyotas are running stock axles or any weight saving mods?

I'm 2620 ready to go.

Part of that is likely the upsize of wheels/tires too.

Bringing this thread back from the dead thanks to the "Random Media" option.

Juggy with frame rail from back of the motor mounts to behind the seats. 6.0 LS, TH400, Atlas 3.8, Dana 60, Dana 70u, 39" Reds, and Racelines. 4100 pounds full of gas (18 gallons), misc tools, and spare fluids without passengers.

Back-halfed samurai buggy with 1.6 engine, 5 speed with samurai/sidekick doubler, Toyota axles, 40" treps on Racelines.
3,080 lbs with full tank of propane, misc. tools, fluids, and full cooler.
