I could see it being harder to simply control the helicopter(human) when the elevator moves vs the helicopter reacting to the elevator moving.

Air doesn't travel through an elevator. While the elevator car isn't air tight the inside of a elevator shaft is much bigger than the car itself. If air were to travel through the car it would have to be basically top to bottom and visa versa. The car floor is solid with no vents but if it did have vents a womans dress might go up around her ears Marylyn Monroe style when the elevator goes down.:haha:.

BTW I don't doubt what your friend told you may be true. They try to redesign the wheel all of the time and usually fail because the wheel isn't broken.... Ask your friend about Kevlar elevator ropes. :haha::haha:

I love bouncin the house when its full!

But honestly, I mostly use the stairs if its under 5 floors. I trust that **** you guys build about as much as a carny ride full of bald tires and drivehshafts!

I used to get elevator shaft control cable form a buddy that works on them. Upto 50 color and number coded very fine strand wiring ranging from 18G-10G. Cut the wrapping off and spend a day rolling up different colors of wire.

Elevators are safe. That doesn't mean you won't get stuck inside one when it breaks down but it won't fall short of a 737 hitting the side of the building.
