To the original question. It is illegal to pull up info on a license plate. my girlfriend is a ***le clerk and unless she has a paper trail to follow up when pulling up info from a plate; there is a nasty fine to follow. I've asked her a few times to get me info when I find vehicles sitting that I would like to buy. Won't do it
