Is a dana 70 front worth a damn?

I found a dana 70 and 14 bolt combo for sale. Didn't know if the closed knuckles were any better than dana 60 knuckles?

If you plan on keeping a good reliable front axle build a 14b. You start out so cheap in it and will have to buy knuckles and shafts and gears anyway in the long run you end up with a stronger axle and don't have to drop 1k on a stock axle. I got a **** ton of money in a lp 60 and could have just built a 14bolt steer axle for prolly half the price once and done. I'm not easy on **** though.

Every closed knuckle 70 i have dealt with had the ball & claw type axle shafts. Outer shaft was about the same diameter as a 44 outer. Weak as hell not to mention the shafts are high $$ & hard to find. Had to give 250.00 for a outer shaft & broke it the first time out. not nearly as strong as a 60 with 35 spline outers.

The pinion is the same diameter/spline count as a D60
