When I got there this poor kid was stuck on the rock pile. Rescue number one and how funny I figured it would be a few years before that would happen.

Don't need one with rope. I'd still use one to protect the rope from abrasion but it shouldn't hurt the tree.

Not what I have seen. It will dimple bark but won't cut into it like cable...

Not saying its right to use rope (I prefer a tree saver) but you can see a distinct difference on a tree between cable and rope.

Having the protective sheath on the end of the rope greatly increases its 'footprint' if you will, which in turn reduces its tendency to cut into the bark...A slight tug needed to get off something will likely not leave any damage...I agree though that a tree strap is the way to go, especially on a 'hard' stuck...:awesomework:

Yeah i guess that was a good trip for them, broke his drive line right after he got me out and happened to find a guy in town to make him a new one!

Met him through a mutual friend, this guy who im sure you have seen at Reiter.


Once i fix my electrical issue i hope to get out to Reiter for the first time!
