• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

Just another LJ Build

I need to install the pcm, tcm and harness and wire up all the gauges. Just been too busy, hot or lazy to do anything else.

Added some inner fender liners.
Made a y-pipe for the 5.3.
Modded a Motobilt battery mount to fit the space I have.
Popped a couple of tendons and had to take some time off.
Got side-tracked laying flooring all through my house.
Pull the 06 aluminum block and head setup out and dropped in a 02 iron block aluminum head setup in and change the harness. Stealing the engine for a turbo S10 I am building.
Took it for a test run at AOP on 6/12/21 and got my butt kicked all day long but had fun anyway.
Changed the upper coil springs from 14x100 to 14x150's.
Wrapped the y-pipe.
Going to replace all the ball joints starting to day and then make some AC lines and it should be ready to drive to work and back if I feel like.

Sorry for the crappy video.

So just some minor changes!

I have been having issues with the PCM reading a ground signal when I shift into 4wl so that it will use the 4wl shift tables. I have an 2002 0411 PCM and a ground wire running to the c2 red 16 pin on the pcm and still not have any success. My VSS is at the rear of the transfer case. My stock pcm file already had the 4wl tables in it though it was from a 2wd truck. I even tried doing a transmission segment swap with no luck. Anybody got any ideas?

Could you post a copy of the tune? The wiring should be correct (red 16 to ground when in 4lo)

I am a novice on tuning but I don't see issues in the tune. The parameters in the shift tables seem logical.
Is the VSS signal
to the ECM good?
How does it shift in 2wd? 4wd Hi?
37" tires correct?

I did some searching and found where people are getting good results from writing the PCM with a similar tune from a 4x4. ( should be some in the HP Tuners repository)
Then copying over your tables / settings. Then the transmission would shift correctly.

Vss signal to the PCM is good.
2hi and 4hi shift perfectly.
37 inch is the actual measured height of the 42's with 5 psi in them.

I did a transmission/dtc segment swap from a 02 Silverado 4x4 and didn't have any luck. I will try the 03 Yukon file and do a transmission/dtc segment swap and see what happens.

It's a no-go on using the 03 file segments, they are different and you can't import them even if you wanted to.

I dont have those tables in my PCM so I cannot look for it in mine but have you gone into the general section or the system section and looked to see if you need to tell the PCM that it is now a 4wd? Just because it has the table does not mean that it is actually using the table. Sometimes you have to "unlock" that for a better term.

Spent a week in Harlan leaf looking and doing some crawlin. Bent and broke a few things. It has taken me about three weekends to repaired and upgrade everything. Killed the antirock, front driveshaft broke and bent the transmission range selector shaft, rear main seal started leaking.I put in an advanced adaptors t-case shifter while I had everything apart. I decided to close up the cab and put a TJ/LJ bulkhead from UCF and a bedrug kit to insulate the floors better.
