My computer is apparently pissed off at me. Yesterday when I got home and turned it on it acted like a program was running once Windows loaded and I couldnt do ****. So I killed it , and tried again, got no icon's or anything. So I let it sit last night and "run" with the hour glass. Finally this AM when I went to check it , the Task Manager box was up ( I hit control alt del several times) and I shut everything down properly and came to work.

Turn it on, background picture, no icons and it will not do anything, shut it down. Repeat process 2 times and now it is on, and has a error box that says

RUNDLL error loading \3\LXCTtime.dll the specified module couldnt not be found.

What do I do ?? :dunno:

PS: I just clicked the OK button on the error box and now even though I can move the cursor around I cant click anything icon or even the start button to shut it down properly... :-[

I believe you need to run a system cleaner like AVG, and restore default settings. I had this recently and thats how I cured it. thumb.gif

what is a rundll error?
A rundll error occurs when Windows attempts to load a file, but isn’t able to do so because it cannot locate the file.
A number of reasons for this exist, including a drive error, buggy software, spyware, a virus, or a faulty uninstall performed on software. More likely than not, the rundll error is caused by the presence of spyware on your computer. Spyware has become more prevalent in our society and almost everyone seems to know someone whose computer has been infected with it on at least one occasion.
Typically, computer users can get spyware after opening emails that were sent for the specific purpose of spreading spyware. Particular freeware programs often come with a form of spyware as well. Quite often, computer users are not even aware that they have spyware on their computer until it has made itself quite at home, entrenching itself deeply until it begins to cause problems such as sluggish processing and errors. For these reasons, it is important to have an anti-spyware/adware program on your computer.

perform a clean boot
Click start and open the menu.
Click run.
Type ‘msconfig’ in the white field.
Click ok. The System Configuration Utility will open.
From the System Configuration Utility, choose the selective startup option by clicking in the small circle in front of it. Deselect all but one of the choices below it. It doesn’t matter which one because you will need to do this until you have covered all of the choices.
Click ok and reboot your computer.
Once this process identifies the checkbox item that is at the bottom of the rundll problem, you will move to the next step. Select the tab at the top of the System Configuration Utility Window that corresponds to the identified item.
Deselect all but one of the choices below the tab.
Reboot your computer.
If the computer reboots without any problems, continue the process of elimination. Deselect different scenarios and reboot. Once you identify the problematic item, you can contact the company responsible for the product, for example a software developer or a hardware manufacturer.

Free Download of RegCure http://www.pcperformancetools.com/regcuredownload.php

I have had this before and one of the above things is your problem. Try the soft boot first. Then go from there.

Fawk its barely moving, its taken me 3 attempts and an hour to get "msconfig" typed in and once I clicked OK the box went away and its not doing anything... I got the task manager to come up and there were like 46 process running but I can t get anything to close out .

I got the hour glass so Im going to wait and see what the POS decides to do :wtflol:

Boot in safe mode and see if it is faster. Normall pushing F8 about every second during startup, till a menu comes up.

Sounds like your hard drive is going out or is gone out. If it has been corrupted you should try to re-install windows and reformat the drives. You will lose all files and apps on the computer, but it may be your only chance.

Write down any error messages you get then type them into Google and search. You will usually find some good ideas on how to fix

You need to download more porn. I am sure there will be some more anti virus software there. flashemifyougotem :flipoff1:

Sheesh... this is a PITA :gay:

Im still not real sure what the problem is, when I go through the msconfig scenario I can get it to boot and such but I guess I dont understand what Im looking for exactly. Probably have to take it to my Bro inlaw.
