Machine relocation.

I'm purchasing a used lathe and verticle mill and the relation process is looking to be a pain. Both are large heavy pieces. Anyone know of a company that specializes in moving these?

How big and where is it?
Where you moving it to?

The vertical mill is roughly 7' tall by 4' wide by 4' front to back and the lathe is probably 7' long by 4 tall by 4 front to back going from wilsonville 35186 to harpersville 35078

I always move mine myself, companies That move machines for a living are very expensive, my wire edm cost me 1,000$ to go about 5 miles, I just bought a 200 ton stamping press that cost me 4,000$ to go just a few more miles. You might be better off checking into renting a tow motor and do it yourself. Mills and lathes are probably the easiest to move with a standard size lift.

Yup, find weights on them. My little 5000 lb forklift moves my big mill and lathe around without too much of a fight. Your lathe sounds big though. Either way, you can probably rent a forklift and lowpro trailer reasonable and do it yourself.
