Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

The new tube work makes your buggy look awesome.

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

The body roll wouldn't bother me at all. It's a long race and I just don't predict the ability to take corners at speed will be much of an advantage. I'd bet it's all about being able to go fast in the desert without breaking your rig and being able to run the rocks smoothly. If limiting the body roll during turns prevents the axle from dropping (down travel) before landing I don't think it will be worth it.

That's my $0.02 anyway.

Yeah, have you ever seen a trophy truck in a turn??

The axle gears are 4.88. i am not worried about the lil bit of lean, it is a rock crawler after all..

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

I am SO glad I sent the Electric WP in for work, turns out it had a bad seal that let coolant get into the bearing and ruin it. Tech said that when they plugged it up to check it they knew it needed work right off because it was SO loud. Who knew it was not supposed to be loud as hell :flipoff1:

Anyways a complete rebuild for $100 is not bad in my book. New seals, bearings and an electrical connector. Tech said it probably was not pushing coolant worth a crap either and it should be much better now. Great service, I will get it back on Friday!!! Meziere Enterprises is the company that makes them, cannot wait to test the cooling out again after these small changes!

Also have one of these on the way from Howe, along with some new hose and fittings

I think this will free up he precious grill space and help airflow a good bit, plus they look good and are tiny!

did you go with the trophy cooler?   those things are big blanging!

Nah, just the small one. He said the big one is only for use with the tropy truck pump. I am taking a few pics of my lines and setup to get his opinion on my setup. The pump whines when it leans over and I always spill a little fluid when it flops. Jeff gave me some ideas on those issues and has helped a ton. He also offered up competitor price when he found out it was for KOH. Cool guy that knows his stuff.

I am about to buy the same cooler from them, what did you give for the off road model? Jeff is a great guy and will give you the time of day when ask him questions. thumb.gif

Re: Matt O's S&N Fab Buggy Updates & KOH Prep/Rebuild

Retail was about $70, comp was $10 or so less. I am just going to use the rubber mounts they have recesses for. The billet tab was bangin, but not worth $35 IMO...

Steering and Cooling were the things I needed to get 100% and I think I am almost there. The rest is looks and safety requiremnts. My father in law tells me he has a banging selection of ambers for me to choose from!
