Been working on the back couple acre's of our place trying to reclaim pasture and the moles have been having a hay day. I just started with poisoned food in the holes and wondering what else has been effective.

We use too just stick a garden hose int he hole and run it for awhile.

garden hose is no good unless you know you can drive em to the surface to shoot em. They got these cool starter pistol shot shell things they sell at McLendons that kills em as they push up a mole hill, and you get the satisfaction of hearing it go BOOM. Way cheaper than the rodenator, but not quite as exciting.

I will have to read up on this one..

Hose will down them

Negative. Might drown babies if they are trapped in a lower burrow, but moles can swim. They have no problems dealing with flood waters. They usually just get driven to the surface somewhere.

Dig the hole out abit and stick them in burning one going in each direction and cover the hole back up with dirt

Then they meet a baseball bat:awesomework:

Water won't work for the damn network of tunnels they have. They have been left alone in that section for better part of 6 years.

you do not need to kill them just put out some little spinning wind wheels they do not like the vibration and move to neighbors yard

Sometimes my cat gets them

My dog digs them up and runs around with them in her mouth all the time.

I have got a few with a shovel.

I have got a few with a .22

Their numbers are going down around my place, but I moles, voles, and pocket gophers... they are all different.

Or you can buy a Rodenator and blow them up. There is a guy in town with one, they work...

You want to use my cannon?? :stirpot:

You have a cannon too?

I went in and asked for cannon fuse, and the guy asked if I was building pipe bombs... I said um, no

I need it for my cannon

Turns out they have it, and it is cheap :)

Heck no,lol---way too explosive..

I was thinking of pumping some propane into the hole and figuring some way to light it.

but you will see all the tunnel locations when you are done!

I have lots of mole traps for sale if anyone is interested. I have the normal ol Jaw style and the Guillotine style ones.

A clever fellow and a half dozen traps will lead to NO moles. :awesomework:

This is the cheapest most effective method. Set your traps, check them next day, feed the ones that are still warm or alive to the dog, wash trap and reset, repeat.

These are the ones we use. Can't remember where we got them, my dad might have ordered them direct or maybe he bought them at an orchard supply place. Lots out there with a similar design.... if you can't see it from the pic, basically you set the trap and dig the burrow hole out a little and stick it down in there. When the little rascal starts pushing his dirt pile up out of the hole, he'll push on the plate and the two scissors go "SNAP" and sever his spine. Easy peasy.
