Back in April there were several spots of damage reported on Mount Emily. NEO 4Wheelers were in contact with the forest service about helping with restoration when the time came. The forest service went in with heavy equipment and leveled out many of the spots and we went up yesterday to spread seed, lay down straw cover, and block access to some of the damaged areas.
Law enforcment added patrols to the area and yesterday we found out one citation was handed out.
we had a truck load and a trailer load of straw that was donated
we had 7 club members, 2 kids, and about 7 volunteers from the forest service
we split up into 2 groups to cover more area
we met back up at an area they werent able to get equipment into
headed back out to the first area we dropped some bales off at, people ate lunch and then it was back to work
after this most of us from the club headed into La Grande and grabbed some pizza.
It was a good time, had really nice weather, and got some good work done.
