muscle cars

Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

i wouldn't really call it a muscle car but its going to be my cruiser this summer...

kinda a cool story behind the catalina

my wifes great grampa bought the car new in 60 ...he owned tell the mid 80s when he died...he left it to his son greg...greg is like 75 years old now...it sat at great uncle gregs house tell 1996...then my wifes uncle john got the car...john is my wifes, moms, brother....ok everybody with me ....john is a old jeeper/hotrod guy....he is no dummy....tons of cool old metal working tools at his house .....

so about 6 months ago we were up at his house for dinner I dont really know john to well ...he was showing me his cars and tools ..and he mentioned he had the catalina down in his pole barn just sitting "waiting for uncle greg to die so I can get rid of it" I asked how much he wanted for it ...he said " if you want it you can have it" ....so I went up and got it ...brought it home and got it fired up....its all OEM ...verry little rust....

That's badass. My buddy has one in 2 door post.

Although my LJ now classifies as a "hotrod" (ie.it's a '72, so no fenders or mudguards :fawkdancesmiley:) I don't consider it one unless you're pulling me over. :D

yep ill have to post some of my catalina kinda the same story as how i aquired it but runs strong!!:D

That catalina has got some great lines and I really like the the stance on it. Is that stock ride height?

A V-6 does not represent muscle :fawkdancesmiley:...unless it's a GN...

Pish. it still makes 312hp! =P . and is rear wheel drive..!

.... goes off to look at ZL1s now.

does it have to be old? :fawkdancesmiley:

Hell no. We have seen two very nice late model Mustangs and a sweet Grand National, so show us what ya got and let's hit the streets [the more the marrier]:corn:

hehe is a 2011 Camaro RS. My DD. realized I haven't taken many photos of her! Shes getting detailed next week. I'll have to do it then.

I'm down for a drive. Some of the Camaro guys have talked about a run across to winthrop. Hwy 20 is really beautiful in the spring/early summer.

Winthrop sounds fun and the wife might even go on that trip.

very cool catalina. alot of nice rides here. I will have to let Bite Me about this, he just started building a 64 chevy II nova.

I really hate to say it but Jakob's V6 camaro will probably eat my stock 396.

can't wait to race :D and its sorta crazy that with a turbo (or 2), guys are getting ~420hp with a v6 (while still keeping the 30mpg)!

But its alright, I'm used to getting made fun of :kissmybutt:

catalina

no the catalina is lowered about 3 inchs .....im going to be baging it real soon...i have most of the parts...and im ordering a new intake manifold and carb for it tomorrow ...

here is my 10 mustang ..i drive when its nice...

I think the new Mustang V-6 has 300 horsepower.

Yup, 305 to be about exact ;-) But still 7 less than the Camaro :fawkdancesmiley: :haha:

Just get some stripes put on her, that'll make up the difference!

I think the new hotrods will smoke most any old school muscle cars in a drag racing and most anything else but they will NEVER be classic's like the old school muscle cars are:D
