Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

I think the new hotrods will smoke most any old school muscle cars in a drag racing and most anything else but they will NEVER be classic's like the old school muscle cars are:D

I really like the new hot rods today like Camaro/Mustang and Challengers, the performnce is incredible. I loved my 06 GTO for performance and with only 50 more horse than my Chevelle it is amazing that it will run over a second faster in the 1/4 mile. So what would your definition of a PURE muscle car be. For me when I have been at a muscle car only show I tend to vote for big blocks and 4 speeds IMHO

is this a classic yet? :fawkdancesmiley:

I really hate to say it but Jakob's V6 camaro will probably eat my stock 396.

You need to learn to drive then! :fawkdancesmiley: Naw j/k...I was just razzin' Jakob... It is a nice car.:awesomework: I'd wheel It!! :redneck:

They will never capture the true Americana that the muscle cars represented. They will never lend themselves to the true driving experience with all the navigation, stereo, and creature comfort. I prefer wing windows to A/C, the sound of the exhaust, the smell of an older motor. Just you and the road in it's purest form.

I dont get jealous too often, but!!! my buddy just picked this up. He used to own it 20years ago(when it was nice) and it had a 396 auto. it is a 67 rs 327 4sp car w. manual disc brakes and manual steering. he sold it in 94 to a budy who added some stuff then traded it to his buddy. No one has put it back on the street since. mark is going to. Now for the jealous part. he got this by trading a pickup he traded for his quad. He got the quad for free in another trade. so essentially he got a 67 rs camaro with all floors, and body panels to repair the rust, a choice of a built 396 or built 355 sbc, manual th400, new posi rear w/ 456's, a factory cowl hood, all the rs grill parts, and the wheels and tires that have never been driven under power on, for FREE!!! haha. I am super happy for him on this. who wouldnt love to get our hot rod from 20years ago back, especially at that price. more pics here. http://northwestscalerc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1664

Mark that thing is beautiful, 67 by far is my favorite year Chevelle. I am sending you a pm with my number

I grew up with muscle cars all around me but I caught the metric bug years ago. I'm dropping my Lexus 1uzfe 4 liter V8 into my 78 Toyota truck so I kind of have the best of both worlds.

I know it'll never be as cool as American muscle to most but it will still be a neat project, especially once the turbo goes on. :D

low rider mini trucks/muscle trucks

I am a fan of mini trucks and I have had a few mini trucks back in the day [80's]1974 ford courier 351w, chev luv 350 and a 1987 toyota truck and they were all slammed in the weeds.

Right on, I've helped build small block s10's both with nitrous and with blowers and my first yota had a strong 350 so this will be fun. It has a healthy 4 cylinder now but I'd be shocked if it had 140 hp at the crank. The 1uz is 250 hp all aluminum, 6 bolt cross bolted mains with forged crank and rods. It weighs 11 lbs more than the r series 4 cylinder in the truck now fully dresser but the power steering and a/c pumps are going away. The truck is getting gutted from a start of just over 2500 lbs.

I need to finish my new wheeler and get my Odyssey with an Polaris 800 triple going before I tear into the race truck.
