What are you going to run for rear suspension

On the yota? Been thinking either raising the leaf mounts 5", ladder bars or a full on parallel 4 link. No matter what it needs a frame notch to clear the axle and the gas tank is going away so my fuel cell and battery can go to the very back of the bed.

I've been wanting to build a street rig for a long time so I've been quietly hoarding parts. :redneck:

I loved my four link on my courier, it was the first time I had ever done one and [holy sh***t] that thing would launch with no wheel hop and really helped compensate for the torque of the motor trying twist that light ass truck off the track.

I've been thinking the 4 link would be the best all around but adjustable ladder bars are stone simple so there is a low likelihood I'd fawk up the setup. :haha:

Ok whitetrash now you got my wheels turning, I've got a nice 390 sitting in the corner and a 1988 ford ranger out back with a blown 4cyl hmmmmm sounds like a good little weekend project.

rick make that ranger a rat rod... there is a guy who runs around with one...he chopped the top,slammed it,and gutted it all. looks awesome. i have currently been looking for a chevy luv,or something older,and small to drop my built 327 into..

It don't matter what it is, if you built it with yer own two hands, and it's a rod, ya got my respect. I get burned out on the folks that want to put someone's ride down cuz it ain't "Merican", that lil' ****er will smoke alot of the "*****in Camaros" runnin around out there. Good on ya Trashy!:beer:

I have always been partial to the sunbeam tiger [poor mans ac cobra] and maybe slide in a 4.6L from a mustang to stay true to the ford power or a nice Ls2 and a 6 speed, now that would be a fun little sleeper on the street.

Upgrades for my Chevelle

Well the stock 42 year old stock brakes were down right scary so I upgraded them and a few other things.

13" front brakes 12" rear. Bigger swaybars front & rear, new boxed control arms and some good shocks.
Hope to get it all installed this weeked and be ready for cruzin:D

There is a car show Saturday 04-28-12 called the Bearcat open at Monroe high school. If I don't go wheeling I will probably hit this show. Mark did your 69 have drum all the way around.

No its disc front drum rear stock. The only down side to the new brake parts are that they need 17" rims minimum so I won't be able to run the stock wheels any more but not really a problem since I'm running 17" front & 18" rear wheels now. I'll be keeping all the stock part parts just in case it needs to go back to stock.
I'll try to make that show also.

I should be back on the road this week end:cool:Well finally got the D60 narrowed and under the car, it is tight with 275 MT/ET's but I think it will work well. Went from a 26" tire to a 29" so the car has a bit of a rake, I think I like it. Dana 60 narrowed to 59-5/8",3.73, power loc,Dutchman 30spline axle,1/2x20 3" screw in studs, disc brake and a girdle cover.:redneck:

Never had it on the track. If it will hook it should be in the mid 11's. Before the rear end swap and tires it was like driving on ice.:redneck:

No 12 bolt, had a 8.5 that just sold to fund the 60. The car is pretty basic, SB383 alum head, MSD ign, big cam and carb, TH350 w/ 2500 stall,dana 60 3.73 gear. Comes in around 425+hp at the crank, need to get it back on a dyno. The first dyno run the carb was pissed and my full advance was coming in about 400 RPM late and the A/F ratio was a little jacked. So there is more tweaking to do to get the full potential out of it, but it is still a kick in the ass to drive.:cool:

'70 boss/mach1 recreation. Fairly built 351cleveland with FAST EFI.
