I guess I'm in a minority that can take care of themselves without the gov't putting me on a program.
As long as your paying the full amount, cash up front your golden :awesomework:

What's so hard to understand? When I tried cutting my hand off a couple years ago with a skinny wheel it cost me right around $1000. When I got cellulitis in my foot a few years ago my bill came out to just under $4000. Peanut had insurance through her work for awhile and that's when our wreck happened. That cost around $1700 before insurance kicked in and $500 after them.

that message was from the owner of the company, about 6 months ago we had a company wide meeting where he stated our company was still making profit. Since then people have been requesting raises & questioning our health insurance since it has gone out the roof. I think this is just being used as an excuse to postpone raises as many people including myself have questioned them.
It's been like 2 1/2 years since my one and only raise since I started here. I knew the economy was ****ty but at the same time I have a family to support & I do not make **** for money. I've really considered looking for a new job
If I get cancer I'll just cook meth to pay my bills :haha:
Those are tiny insignificant medical bills. What happens if you get 50K in bills? Or 100K? Pick a number, it's possible to get hit with that much in medical expenses. Ever had to pay for an MRI? You have any idea how much some of that stuff costs?$1000 ... $4000.
Yeah I dunno what they were thinking making the non-insured penalty so much lower than an insurance premium...Here's one thing that nobody is talking about, the new law is that insurance has to take you if you have a pre-existing condition, that is the big kicker. So, let's say a guy makes $100 grand a year, if he doesn't get insurance he pays $2500 in penalties for not getting it, big whoop it's still a lot cheaper than insuring his family, now this guy gets hurt and needs surgery, he goes out and gets insurance, they pay for all his medical bills and then he drops the insurance and continues paying his penalties
Sounds to me like your employer is trying to find an reason to cut your wages and stop hiring help, there's absolutely no reason to start changing things before anything is enacted
You'll cry your eyes out and that's about it.I think next week after it's signed into law.................
If you're a hard worker and your employer isn't rewarding you for that then yeah, it's time to start shopping around for someone who may appreciate your work ethic.
If on the other hand you're a lazy **** who is just there to collect a paycheck and leaves all the hard work for others then I'd stay where you are :redneck:
I am not sure why people are worried look at all the other well run gov programs. medicare, social sec., post office, etc. besides the 17000 new irs workers will make sure we only pay our share.
you should feel more secure now knowing the medical zar in washington dc will monitor you doctors decisions to make sure they are best for you.
kev
I still have a job.
We have had multiple layoffs in the last 3 years and I have made it through all of them
I dont mind doing many other things but I would hope I could get some recognition for it
The whole thing? :eek2:The bill is unconstitutional....
The whole thing? :eek2:
:flipoff:
I'd say the mandated insurance thing is a goner. You don't get much more unconstitutional than that.
Crusty is swinging on my nuts:flipoff:Penis Man is a right wing whacko :flipoff:

If you understand the basic premise on which all insurance systems are built, that makes the most sense. If you understand the amount of power wielded by government and the inherent inefficiency of a monopoly, it makes the least sense. In my opinion, the most efficient Healthcare would be a non-profit, government sponsored (but not ran) 'public-option' insurance company.
oh one more, no more bacon or change it all to turkey bacon
I would eat bacon while talking on my cell phone (about Lucky Jeff's outlaw ways), speeding, and wearing no seat belt on the freeway :cheer:When bacon is outlawed only outlaws will eat bacon.:redneck::haha:
