So I'm new to lipo and have done some searching but i dont get it. So before I recharge my lipo do i need to discharge it with my charger?

Noooo. Just make sure your settings are right on your charger for the voltage.
Draining a lipo below its voltage will kill it--thats why your esc has lipo cutoff :awesomework:

Plus they get unstable and can catch fire. Never discarge a lipo.

Some of the better charges have a discharge mode for lipos.Its main function is to drop the voltage down to a "storage" capacity.Lipos should not be stored for extended periods in a fully charged state.
Lipos do not need to be be cycled/drained like the old ni-cads.....they do not develop memory.
Giving a lipo a boost charge just before running is also not needed..the performance gain is minimal at best. Keeping them warm in your pocket is a much better performance enhancment,they perform better and are more effiecent when warm.
