Many of you here know me off the site, and know that I bought an Ultra 4 4500 car last year. We prepped and race at King of the Hammers where we finished 9th place in our class. We've got some other races coming up, and went to Las Vegas this past weekend so I thought I'd share our story.
We were in Las Vegas last weekend for Holley's LS Fest West. Holley and Hammerking partnered to do an off road event and built a kick ass short course inside the dirt oval at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It turned out pretty sweet. Ian, Jesse, and myself drove the truck and trailer down while my wife, Drae, and Roger flew down. Rich also drove up from AZ. Sam M and Jason from here joined us for a bit as well. We partied it up on Fremont, and had a blast racing. We got a couple of practice runs, qualified in 3rd place, and then won our first two rounds of eliminations. That put us in the final heat against a very fast Jordan Pelligrino, I kept up for the first lap and then he started pulling on me. I was pulling out all the stops and got a little deep into the last corner, where the soft sides sucked the car in and we flopped over on passenger side. No damage, no injuries, fired the car up and drove it back to the pits. Friday night we also got invited to participate in the Cinco De Mayo Tire and taco De Fryo, I'm looking for more pics of that. Here's some pics, I'll add videos too.
