Where's the PBR? Did your can get thrown out with the old grill? Diet cherry 7-up, whatthe?

... I told the wife I would try to stop drinking SO MUCH beer...

Not quit drinking, but I probably don't need 6-10 beers every night of the week... so I will try this for a while and see how it works and how I feel, and if I sleep better...

Ham and swiss quiche...

Decided to make bread and butter pickled eggs... Also cut up some cucumbers for some fresh bread and butter pickles...

I was thinking about making deviled eggs and figured if I was boiling eggs might as well pickle some... I usually throw them in the zesty pickle juice, but thought I would try this and see how they come out... I'm probably going to make deviled eggs out of these...

Just got this e-mail from America's Test Kitchen...

Thought that the other foodies on here might enjoy this...

And yes, I'm on food forums...

Dear Home Cook,

Eleven seasons ago, we launched our first public television show: America

Made deviled eggs out of the pickled eggs... They weren't that bad, but didn't turn out awesome... I'm still gonna try it with zesty dill pickle juice and see how those turn out...

Looks good...

Nice little broiler pan... Is it from a toaster oven set???

I like the sheet pan as well...

Ya, it was there so I used it. I've never used it in the toaster oven, it always just sits on top of the cabinets. I kind of liked it though. Easier/quicker to clean up then the broil pan and I think it worked just as well.

And dang those onions turned out sweet.

I got one for ya. At xmas the mutha in law made sausage wrapped deviled eggs.

She took hard boiled eggs and put a thin layer of sausage around the eggs and deep fried them. Then halved them ad put on the topping.

Like heaven.:awesomework:

OK, you have my attention...

I love to cook in the oven on Cedar. Heres some salmon with cracked pepper and garlic. Some onions, tatos, lemons etc.

bake it till it falls apart.

Key to cedar is to get it well oiled. Fish oil gets em broke in good.

My famous beans. Affectionately know as "Man Stew".

3 pounds of Smoked pork chop END CUTS, $1 a pound at Stewarts. Thats the key.

I pan fry the end cuts and add a little water while the sizzle. As soon as the water gets gravy like I pour it over the beans in the crock pot. I can get a couple gravy pours out of each pan of meat. The end cuts are better than chops in my opinion, they have all the smoker candy/flavor on them.

Then a can of each kind of beans I like and two cans of corn cuz it makes poo speckled. I luvs me sum corn and put in everything.

A SWEET onion all chopped up. No nasty sharp onions are allowed in my fridge.

Then the chops get hand pulled and deboned.

Then it all gets tossed in the crockpot and magic happens.

Flour, pepper, salt...

Brown on each side...

0114111645.jpg

While the ribs were browning, I cut up some onion and celery...

Had to brown the ribs in two batches...

0114111702.jpg

The onions and celery along with some garlic got a little color...

Everything in the pool with a box of chicken stock and a can of tomato paste... 8 hours on low...

They've got a couple hours left then it's awn...

Why is fruit on the bottom yogurt so much better then blended?

and why does macaroni and cheese shaped like toy story characters and sponge bob square pants taste so much better then traditional noodles?

the first is a mystery.

The second is easy. Cuz he lives in a pineapple under the sea. Nothing compared to a crabby patty tho! :redneck:

I didnt take a pic of it yesterday but i made something damn good!

I took some left over costco spinich and cheese ravioli that had been boiled the night before, they had no sauce on them.

Seared them in a hot pan with olive oil, pepper, garlic, and some thick cut onions. It makes them a little crispy on the outside.

Then i cut up some leftover rib eye steak we had grilled and added it to the mix.

Added some motzarella cheese and a sprinkle of italian seasoning...let it heat up and melt the cheese.

mmmmmmmmmmmm!

Wife and kids were gone since Friday... I ate leftovers the past 2 days, but tonight I grilled me up a 14oz New York, made some Taters and Peppers, and a little lumpia...

I am stuffed!

Went to the sportsman show and the youngest took his turn at the fishing pond, just like every year... This is his last year because of age though...

He asked if he could smoke them, so I grabbed some salmon to throw in with them...

He cleaned them, hooked them up with some brine, racked 'em and smoked 'em... He's pretty proud of himself...:awesomework:
