I got this returned e-mail from the Eastern Washington rep about the Moab area parks - I don't like the suggestion in it - so I responded again:

My response:
Thank you for the update, however traditional use and effect on the economy must be taken into consideration, the Township of Moab has relied on the Off-road ATV and mountain bike sports since the pulling out of mining in the area and people like myself only go to the region for this reason. I hope you consider the best choices for the people of Utah within your vote and the significance of the sport on the economy of the region and not just the pat on the back for creating more wilderness park land. The turning of this area into a "park" will significantly impact the sports in question and the city of Moab which already boast Arches national park the most picturesque parts of the region as a draw and creating more land withing the park framework will only impact the economy by shutting out large user groups to the region.
