is that night fall down town chatt?
Yessir. Music there never is of importance to me, but I do like to start the night off there if I ride to Chatty on the bike by grabbing a cold draft beer and walking around looking at all the bikes. Its awesome walking around in the middle of the road with a good craft beer checking out all the nice bikes that I can't afford....I must live vicariously. Lol

Didn't know you lived up there. Its dead on an hour from my house to downtown Chatt-town. We go up there a lot. It's my favorite place to go out to eat/drink. So many good bars/pubs/eateries. Tacomac is a staple, everything they have tastes awesome and they have 96 beers on tap, so we frequent that place quite a bit when we go up there.

It's 30 minutes from my house and I'd be happy to let you buy me a beer.

That's exactly why we decided not to build a house. Our lumber package was gonna jump 15% in one day so we said no thanks. I think they imposed a tariff on lumber.

I'd be down for that. I already know those other 2 jokers but wouldn't mind having a beer with either of them any time.

I think the new build housing market is about to crash, the remodel industry too, prices on everything has sky rocketed. We were super busy this year and now we’re getting slow

Last year when we were trying to decide on building or buying, I found a sweet spot of land but they were wanting $20k for it. I offered $14k and they wouldn't take it. But while I was negotiating, I talked to my buddy that builds houses for a living and asked what he could build me a house for that was about the same size and finish as his, because I really liked it. He said just the house turn key, no appliances or anything, would probably be around $140k +/-, which was higher than I expected because I know what he built it for 7 years prior.......so we talked some more and he said they were entertaining selling their house and building a bigger nicer one somewhere else. Theirs was only 7 yrs old and kept up nicely. So we talked about just buying theirs because I liked the house and location, and settled on $140k for everything and split closing costs. They left all the appliances, most the furniture, everything, because they didn't want to reuse it in their new house.

I sure am glad it worked out that way, I look back and see too many ways we'd been nickel and dime'd to death if we built on that other peice of land I tried to buy.

We were gonna build a 1500 sq ft ranch on my dad's farm. Had the plans done and everything, gave them to the builder that did dad's house remodel and it was gonna be $250k with us doing a good bit of stuff that we felt confident in doing and getting some pretty discounted stuff along the way through friends and family. Thought that dude was price gouging us so we checked with another builder and it was basically the same and then looked at having one of those turn key custom home builders do one of their plans and it was still gonna be in the same ballpark if not higher. We never imagined 1500 sq ft would cost so damn much. Real estate market up here just keeps going up and up. Just crossing our fingers that we can get rid of our place before it pops.

That is about how much heated sq ft our house is. $250k is crazy! One thing I like about living where I live, real estate is A LOT cheaper than most areas.

Yup, finishing bathroom now. A lot to do yet but working on it. Not sure where we are moving but plan on building on my property 1.5 miles down the road once the bubble pops

The 120 min IPA is the highest abv beer I've ever drank. 18% abv. But stupid smooth for such a high abv. Thats 4 times the alcohol that's in a Miller Lite. Had it on tap at Tacomac one time. It's kind of a rarity, especially to find on tap. They done well at masking the alcohol in that beer. After it, I remember drinking a 10.5% abv beer by Green Flash and it tasted like ****, like a shot of whiskey was dropped in an IPA. For the 120 min to be 18% and so smooth speaks volumes of the brewmasters at Dogfish Head.
