project dirt dobber

Went wheeli,g the other day at the flats And had a good time. Truck did great. Me and Toyota Josh did so,e tuning on my air shocks so I'm much happier with them.
Here's some pics

Been a while since last posted. I am Hitting up ivy branch in the am. Things I have done to the buggy is sway bar for the rear. Flexes So much more evenly now...the front actually is,being used now. We shall see how it does. Junk yard parts. Home brew setup. 91 amigo torsion bar, 17" long arms made from 1/2" plate and it's mounted on my rear housing.

Nice budget build!

I know squat about swaybars, but it seems to my unknowing self that the mounts so far inboard on the bar would cause it to deflect while cycling :dunno:

Thoughts?

Haha. True. It does a little. I'll see how long this mounting last and will see an updated mounting system after this one wears out...it might be this trip. Who know.

Came back from ivy branch...Had a blast, best time I think I've had wheeling. Something for everyone and certainly pushed me and y buggy to its limits. Update on sway bar is...the mounting needs some work. Like the earlier post mounts need to be spread out cause of deflection, but over all huge difference. Amazing how a cheap sway bar will correct or hide leaning and allow my front leads to actually function. But I'm putting it back into the shop to rebuild the front half of the chassis and link it with a new front housing...mi be is bent. Pics up

Great man. We didn't see anyone else on Sat. This is the second time wheeling with Allen and Sydney...they are good people! They have an awesome rig too! We drove up Fri am and wheeling a lil before dark. The guy who owns the camp took us out and showed us where the trail head was and watched us wheel some trails, we saw trails 99/lower j and started there on sat! I took the longest on it but what a trail. Loved it. Left there after some good and chillin time. We went to butcher block and Ran through that. That was a walk compared to lower j. Josh hit a washout in his buggy and trashed the front raceline and knuckle. Creeped back to camp only to be 300 yards and his tire, knuckle to fall off and he was done for the night. So we got up and he swaped another knuckle to get on the trailer. Me, Allen and Matt went back out and Ran OUCH...that was a cool trail too. Ran cable after that and some others along the way. So it was a great weekend...I'll be going back soon. If you need a place to stay, check out "rideivy.com" great place to camp and awesome outdoor showers.

Been wheeling Ivy with some of the locals for the past 5 years or better and just did Lower jay for my first time this spring, that trail is a real sumbitch. Next time you go tell them you wanna run ladder. Run it both directions too.

Cool videos ...that place looks awesome. Its good to see pics of Shanes old S-10 Truggy out on the trail again too thumb.gif

I'm surprised we didn't run into you guys on Saturday. We ran Ladder backwards for the first time Saturday and the S turn is challenging. Maybe will get to ride with you guys in the future, ck us out @ Highcountryoffroad.org

Re:

That S turn is the **** when you figure out how to carry it just right. Came through it once and hit the perfect line where I never had to back up. Sooooo much fun.

Allen was telling us about hicountry boys. Yea man. We,d love to hit some spots y'all know better. It was our first time so we hit as much as we could find out about. But it was a great place. Y'all have any videos of S TURN and LADDER?

I think we did those in fri but unsure. Been prepping my mind for tearing into the buggy once again for the next steps of business. And I have a lot of work to do before I down the rig. But I got side tracked and bought some elbows for a turbo manifold, we shall see
