Ranger turf delete

Your gonna blow up turf mode if you beat on it with decent tires. It doesnt matter if its "locked" or open. I had a friend grenade his at mmorv a couple weeks ago, and another friend eventually swapped to a high lifter RZR trans in his general after his grenaded.

Incorrect. Turf mode blowing up has nothing to do with it being engaged or disengaged.

If you do larger/aggressive tires and like to wheel hard, do yourself a favor and delete it now. If you are staying in stock tires and using it around the farm, keep turf mode.

IF you are going to bigger tires, While you are in the trans deleting it, go ahead and do gear reduction, double reverse chain, and HD pinion plate.

I am the one with the general. I’ve blown the trans twice, once for turf mode and once for reverse chain. Both times replaced under warranty. I have a rzr highlifter transmission in it now and so far so good.

I have a ranger 900xp 2014 with 900 miles on it and it’s fine and will haul the load when needed in turf mode

Is there a way for me to install turf mode with welded diffs on my cheroturd? The only wheelin I do anymore is driving the boy around my yard. Selectable electromagnetic welded diffs?

I know I'm topping old ****, but this is ****ing hilarious. Holy hell GOLD.
As for turf mode, I've rebuilt several for this thing grenading. Not a fan, but if you don't put big tires on or bounce the rear, its fine. Think of it like a D30 with a lunchbox locker on 35's. Don't let it leave the ground or land under any amount of throttle. Ever.
You can drop the spool out of any 570/900/1k in it except highlifter (I think that's where they geared different). The HL reverse setup still works. You can use the gears that create overall gear ratio out of about any of them as well. I have 570 gears in one trans on the shelf, my buddy had diesel ranger gears in his XPT drag racer for a while trying to hit 150mph. laughing1 but seriously.

Well… I’m not sure if this thread has aged well or not. Either way JD was part of this crazy group of fake internet friends that, at least for me, helped me get through some hard times in my life.
He will be missed more than he probably realized.
