Learn from your mistakes. Don't make the same one twice. My motto. So far so good.

Yes I have a huge one, but it'll take me hours to type out the drama.

Holy ****......... I knew you had a heart in there, but thats deep.........it takes alot to share things like that. Like the song says,,"Have a drink on me"

I'm one of the ones whom that hit hard as well. My last words to my dad were "See you next Saturday."

Other than that, yeah, I might not always have made the best of decisions, but I don't regret anything I've lived through.

Exactly man:cool: My past has formed me into the person I am today. Sometimes I think maybe I should have done this or that, but in the end I would change nothing not even the most horrible experiences in my life.

Cheers...

I'm at an odd crossroads in life. My son is now 18 and out of the house. It's just me and the weiner dog. Loneliness and losing that sense of purpose that being a single fulltime dad gave me has put me a drift in melencholy and reflection...............not all bad, just new.
:wtf:New= odd:wtf:

Well, you can look at it this way....now that's he's older, you're automatically getting smarter. Make sure you're there for him when he starts asking those questions that maturity starts bringing up in your twenties and thirties. And don't be afraid to say you don't know something or should have done something differently...or should have educated yourself or invested in something that could have brought you greater wealth or enjoyment (not talking about racking up large debt on play toys). Those are the things that I wish my dad taught me, but he was too timid to do those things himself, and advised us to take the "safe" road in life...which to our generation, is no longer safe and definitely no longer secure. I still love my dad, and we talk almost every day, and I run almost every major decision by him. But anything he does not see as "safe", especially financially, he advises against...whereas when I just pony up and do the un-"safe" thing, I usually find it a better decision then when I hadn't, and if it wasn't, at least I tried.

Alright fellas... Its not healthy to dewll on all the stuff you've done wrong in your life. Instead, think of all the fun, good times you had with these people in your life. We can all step back and think of things we would do differently if we went back in time. But thats crazy. We can't. And regret is nothing to fill your day with...
When an old name comes up (wife, father, whatever) try to think of the best thing you and that person ever did...

Much regret...

But do not let it affect nor effect my day's today...

BAM! I was already there and it's taken me a bit to stop bawling like a baby.. My regret is not telling my former employer to go to hell much sooner!

In 2001 I was supposed to take my dad camping (he couldn't drive anymore due to diabetes related illnesses) but 9/11 happened and the company I worked for revoked all vacations for management. (I should've told them to scrub salt then) I put it off till '02 and kept building on my truck Black Jack (we liked going places where the roads weren't)
They kept putting off my vacation and my dad passed away in August. Just a few weeks before we were to go to Ouray, CO for the full size Jeep invasion.
I kept trying to go on with it, but UPS lost my steering parts and I wasted a week and a half trying to get them elsewhere (all custom made) I was about to give up and my kids said "Why don't we just fix up the '86 Comanche and take it instead?"
We spent the whole day converting it to 4x4 and lifting it 3" and loading everything on board. We drove almost straight there and only got to spend 1 day wheeling, but it was the most fun I'd had in 3 years!

Regretted not having the old Trail Boss along for the ride in person.

Huh? :wtf: What's the name of the song?

OK I found it, it's in Deep Kick on Mother's Milk.

It's 5:25 into the 6:33 song. Flea says "but the Buthole Surfers say, its better to regret something you've done than something you didn't do"

I didn't know about the Butthole Surfers connection untill I found and carefully listened to the RHCP lyrics.:D

I regret that I ever spent money on a vacuum cleaner when I could have just borrowed my niece once a week :haha: :haha: :redneck: :haha: :haha:
