I was wondering about having it etched. We had a huge rock at our office done and it's really cool. But the guy was from Oly. Gotta be someone up there that does it. I doubt we'd have a problem securing the funds. LMK if you want a hand with anything...

If you take a generator and some grinders you can smooth a face of it and use an electric die grinder to inscribe it.

Yeah, the guy basically layed out the pattern and sandblasted it out. Then he used monument paint to give contrast. Very fine detail like a headstone.

The more I think about it the more it's coming to me. Randy wouldn't want anything fancy--he would want something beat onto the rock and left to rust and be driven on--am I wrong?

That's where taking a generator,grinders and his close group of friends up to do it would be awesome as everyone can inscribe their last words into the rock for him.

I like the idea of doing this is and all but maybe the money spent doing this could be spent on his little girl Callie. She's the one that's going to suffer the most. I have a soft spot for her in my heart since her and my daughter are close to the same age and played together.

I first read this post yesterday and couldn't think of what I would say. Today I reside in the same boat. I am deeply saddened to hear of Randy's passing. I wheeled with him numerous times in the last year or so. Even if he wasn't in my group we'd just run into him out there regularly. Shared a campfire a few times as well. Great dude and a top notch wheeler.

His family has my deepest condolences and thoughts. If someone could PM me his address I'll happily contribute to the flowers I'm sure are already coating his yard. Anything else I can do to help, please let me know. Last time I saw him was the last Elbe work party.

Does anyone know what happened to him?
