Not sure if this is the right section. But I was recently ripped off buying a samurai. I was hoping to find other victims or even just any info on this punk. I bought a samurai that allegedly had 5.29s Aussies and chromo 30 spline of longs. Like a retard, I took his word for it. I've had nothing but probls with the rig(all my fault, I should have noticed. I.e. shackles break lines, wiring etc.) Stuff I noticed, but weighed against the parts it was supposed to have,it wasn't a bad deal. I got it home and did a ton of work to it. Once I started on the suspension I pulled the knouckles off for knuckle gussets. This is when I could clearly see the drivers side was a stock birf and then inner. Other side was the same. After that I pulled the front third to see how bad I really got screwed. Welded 4.10 third!FML. What gets me is it sounded just like a lunchbox locker during the test drive. So the information I have on this pos as of right now is his first name is Jack he's approx 22 and works under the table doing mechanic work. "Cause I don't like working for the man." He had several samurais and a few yotas where I pickd it up. At 27814 122nd ave e Graham wa. I am also "missing the bill of sale with the correct amount. I watched them fill out one for the accurate amount, but when I got home the bill of sale said " gift". I still have the copies of all texts and the original ad. I've been screwed a little before, but because of my own mistakes. But he flat put lied in the ad. I'm not sure what to do but I can't let it slide. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Actually you can go to the courts and file suit.
You will win with your proof but collection is a whole other can of worms.
You could always start by phoning l&i about his operations and also report him for selling without a dealers license.

That is just the start of the havoc you could wreak.

I'd go after the dealers license as suggested. Chances are he has sold enough garbage with a trail to prove it.

All good ideas. But I'm pretty sure he has no license of any kind (dealer, business, etc) just some schmuck with a toolbox. I want revenge and restitution, but in a legal way. But more than anything I just want it to be made right.

I was also told if I take him to court and win, there's nothing forcing him to pay. As in no punishment or wage garnishment if he does not pay. Plus he apperantly never works on the books.:looser:

YOU are a bad consumer. :eeek: You Knew better than to trust the guy and you were to lazy to perform the needed checks to insure you were getting what you paid for.


All it took was to turn the driveline and remove the hubs.


An hour of labor is much cheaper than, gears, locker, longs. You will never get anything out of the guy. Just saying.

Oh and for turning the driveline, I'm assuming you're talking about checking the gear ratio. I'm not too concerned about that so I didn't bother to check. I am concerned about the locker and 30 splines. (I swear I could hear the locker ratcheting. I don't know what it was now). The bottom line is the dude flat out lied about major items. I know he wasn't ignorant as to what was in the axles because he told me he built the rig. I expect that kind of deception when buying from the general population, but for some reason I assume a fellow wheeler and "active member of the community" would have a little more integrity.

It sucks, but good luck on getting anything done legally.

You said yourself he doesn't work on the books. Small claims court will give you a 'judgement' but doesn't actually get you any cash.

These days it's buyer beware, you really should have looked at it closer or more in depth... rain/dark or not, if you couldn't verify if you should've passed, or at least got it cheap enough that it didn't matter.

This is the reason you WANT TO REPORT him.
He will be fined & possibly jailed as those are crimes to operate without proper licensing & registering. He is the reason I have such high fees & insurance.

The reason I havnt gone this house is he is 2.5 hrs away. I have was hoping someone had dealt with him and had his home address. The address I have is for his "shop". I'm not wanting to waste anymore time or money on this guy unless I'm fairly certain to get results.

First of all, sorry to hear about your misfourtune. I don't think you'd see any money if you took this to court, it would be a giant waste of time.

The goal is to get something, anything back at this point, and not go to jail right?

I would call/visit him and see what he has to say about the parts. If it's obvious he scammed you and didn't just pass along bad info(use your own judgement), try to negotiate some kind of solution/compensation.

Tell him otherwise you'll be reporting him to the state, L&I, IRS, forums, cl ads, facebook, etc., you will go out of your way to return the favor. Better make it seem sincere, he needs to believe you will follow through, and that it's not worth it.

I'd just call him and ask for my money back. Phrase it like Brad said, maybe he didn't know. Don't accuse him, say there must have been a mistake. Got to give him an easy out. Unfortunately you lose your time and gas money but you wont make that mistake again.

I've bought lots of rigs that didn't have the parts people say. If your willing to pay for parts you can't see then be ready for something like this to happen.
When someone tells me a rig has a locker but no proof I pretty much figure its a welded diff.
To bad for your mistake but move on and chalk it up to experience and spend the time too look closer next time.
