As many of you know, I purchased Patooyee's buggy about a month ago. I can't explain or describe as to how well thought out and fabricated this buggy is! I wanted to start this thread to document the progress of me learning how to drive this rig and be able to display the craftsmanship that went into building it. I've been able to take it out on 2 trips since making the drive to Florida to pick it up so no need for anyone to call me out for letting it sit in the garage! booyang. The first trip was to my local park here in Louisiana called Catahoula Recreation located in Sicily Island and the 2nd trip was over Labor Day weekend to SMORR in Seymour, Missouri.

I've got some bystander video from Sicily Island that I will post shortly and I'm currently working on editing through the GoPro footage I captured.

SMORR was an awesome trip and I was able to climb every obstacle attempted except 1 trail called "Tombstone" that was a very tall rock waterfall that had no way to avoid bottoming out hard. I was also able to climb a trail that had never been climbed since being cut 2 years ago called "Marty Crawl". After I was the 1st to make it up another rig from Texas was able to follow me up.

Thanks for checking it out and don't be disappointed in the slower paced videos than what you're used to seeing on here as this is my first buggy, first time with rear steer, and first time with V8 power.

Man this is so surreal watching these. My buggy couldn't have gone to a better new owner than Derek. He is a very down-to-earth guy with patience and intelligence. Its great to see someone in the passenger seat as well, that's something the rig was built for but never ended up having with me. It looks like we ride completely different parks but I feel like we would be good friends if we were closer to each other. I think you already have more video of that rig in action than I ever got. I'm just notoriously bad at getting video. I was always either up and over everything by the time anyone got the cameras out or no one ever had a camera on them to begin with. :)

Oh, and I love the name. That's something I never got around to doing.

As I watch these I'm sitting here going, "Nail it!" or "Rear steer left!"

Marty Crawl is just asking for cage and body damage....and Tombstone is quite the nasty ledge!!

There's no joke about that at all! I was able to make it up without hitting anything but Jeremy following me worked on his cab pretty good.

Added videos from SMORR to 3rd post. Now I have to get the GoPro video editing software and start digging through the hours of GoPro footage to get the highlights posted. That may take me a few days.

It was Jeremy Claunch in what was left of a black Chevy Blazer.
Lmao I figured that's who. He's local to my area. Good dude. Always fun to hang with. Wont ever say no to a trail.

I won't join Fbook just for pics and vids but word is there is a lot floating around of that trip.

Title threw me, There is a member here named "skippin rocks" that lives way up north that is building a buggy. I opened it and it was Patooyee's buggy haha.
I think we talked shocks on the phone the other day, am I right?

Yep that was me looking for some spacers for my buddy that bought the ORI's I had.

He is definitely not scared to beat on that rig! Everybody was amazed that it stayed together all day on Sunday. Here is a video of him beating on it on a trail called Bump It.

Here I am on the same trail. I had tried this seemingly easy climb over 20 times over the years with jeeps on tons and 44's with no success.

Went to Catahoula Recreation this past weekend to race in the Louisiana Club Challenge that benefits St. Jude. Had a great time and ended up tearing the buggy up on Friday night playing around but was able to get it welded back together Saturday morning before the races. Should have some good videos in the near future.

Good to see it getting used and abused :driving: What did ya end up breaking?

Playing around on a ledge the night before the races and ripped a front upper link tower off the axle after a rough hit and putting it on its side. When the link tower let go the axle shifted and let the driveshaft hit the engine skid hard enough to shove it up into the crank balancer and also breaking the belt. The driveshaft also hit the oil pan but surprisingly the oil pan won the battle. I also bent a wheel center on the passenger front.
