I am interested in trading my 1987 Samurai for a CJ 7 or 5, stock is fine, needs to be street-able and reliable. Located in Chelsea, AL 35043

Engine:
1999 Chevy Tracker Fuel Injected 1.6 16 valve engine with roughly twice the hp of a stock Sammi
Trail Tough 1.6 conversion kit with Trail Tough modified wiring harness
Full Circle indestructible engine mounts

Transmission:
Samurai transmission -- rebuilt with Trail Tough bearing kit

Transfer Case:
Samurai Transfer case -- rebuilt with Trail Tough Rockmonster 4.9 gear set
Trail Tough Mighty Kong transfer case cradle

Axles:
The axles are all stock with exception to the SPOA pads. The differentials are open and have the stock gear ratio.

Suspension Modifications:
Trail Tough 2" body lift (1-1/2" was required for the engine installation, otherwise it would not be there)
Trail Tough SPOA Suspension System -- Deluxe. All spring bushings replaced with Energy suspension poly bushings

Steering: Trail Tough knuckle-over steering kit

Wheels: 5 - Rockcrawlers-- black powder coated 16x8 stock bolt pattern

Tires: Nearly new 235/85-16 off road tires

Brakes:
The brakes are stock but I put brand new rotors and calipers on front about a year ago, turned the rears drums and replaced the wheel cylinders and hardware. All shoes and pads are almost new.

Seats:
Front are Dodge Neon and this Samurai actually still has a roll and stow back seat with seat belts.

Bumpers:
Front: Rocky Road with a Blue Torch Fab custom hoop and an XRC8 winch with cover (winch is only included if your CJ has a winch)
Rear: Rocky Road Crawler bumper with spare tire carrier.

Doors are removable

Top is in good condition with no broken snaps

The heat works well, it never had A/C.

Spare parts list:
Extra rear differential
Extra Transfer case
Front knuckle rebuild kit
All sorts of small parts
I can't remember what all I have. It's a whole shelf full of stuff.

This thing will cruise at interstate speeds (70+) without a problem. It will also cruise up moderate hills in 5th gear without having to downshift. The fuel mileage is around 23 mpg. This is a good solid truck. It will start up quickly and I can drive it anywhere that I decide to go. I have no concerns about it getting there and back. I have just always wanted a CJ.

Re: Trade Samurai for CJ

Unless you are going to keep the cj on the street you will be disappointed in the woods. I had a sammy with open diffs and traded it for a tj with air locker rear open front and had to mistreat the tj every where the sammy went with ease! Yea you gain some room inside but for the money the sammy is more bang for the buck. I have had 5 jeeps cj's to tj's the jeeps are way more expensive!!! Just Empty Every Pocket :****:

Re: Trade Samurai for CJ

I drive it on the street a good bit and some trails. Nothing hard core. I appreciate your input but I just gotta scratch this CJ itch. My wife thinks I am crazy too, she says as soon as I get my toys just like I want them... I sell them!

Re: Trade Samurai for CJ

I live in Alexander city just down 280 from ya. What's the cash price for this little jewel? Text 256 675 0085 and let's see if we can make a deal.

Re: Trade Samurai for CJ

I will text you as well, but I have gotten a couple of PM's about price and so I wanted to just post it here too. I will sell it outright without the winch for $4700.
