Would you go to the doctor? I Cleaned The **** Out Of It And Glued It together and Used butterfly Bandages. Family seems to think I should get stitches but I'm not to sure. Plus I hate going to the doctor

I used a pressurized can of sterile saline wound cleaner..it didn't feel nice

Yep stitches. At least it's in a spot that wont hurt so bad getting the shots or stitched up.

Go to the Dr. the stiches will make it heal faster so you can use it without ripping it open again and you can get pain meds:awesomework::silly7:

I've had good luck in the past with this liquid bandage..always kept it together...if it stays together it's no different than having stitches, right?

Ps: I don't do pain meds

I'm normally the same way (no stiches) but looking at where that's at and how much flexing there is at that spot its a coin toss

my cousin took a 9mm point blank through the hand and never saw a doc, Im sure youll be fine. Then again if it was me, id probably see the doc.

Make sure it's good and clean and you will be fine. I have done worse and never went to the doctor.:redneck:

The liquid bandage seems to be holding it together good enough:redneck:

Hi all,

That is the sort of wound that I would wrap a (new, clean) blue shop paper towel around and continue with the job, then later clean good by flushing with hydrogen peroxide solution, then wrap a bandage around it.

Good luck!

Alan

How's it healing so far? I hate going to a doc as well but sometimes it can't be helped and sometimes you're somewhere where you just can't get to one right away.

For the later(and for when you are out wheeling) I keep a special first aid kit that includes peroxide, a Neosporin type product and a beading needle. These are the kinds of needles that are used for intricate bead work and you can buy them at a craft store. It's very thin and rather than painful when you stick it in your flesh it's more like mosquito bite annoying. Just make sure you get one that's stiff enough to puncture your skin. Unless you are bald or keep your hair super short the perfect emergency suture material is on top of your head. It matches your DNA completely and will be absorbed by your body in a couple of weeks. Plenty of time for that wound to heal.
