Superduty mirror question...

Anybody know if the base model mirror housings are the same internally as the full power premium units and have all the mounting points for the motors?

Somebody decided to smash the driver side mirrror on my '16 F350 in the work parking lot and didn't bother to offer to make it right, Ford wants a $1K and my insurance has a $500 deductible so I'm trying to get by a little cheaper.

I was wanting to swap the heated mirror and the power fold & telescope motors over to a non power housing as they're way easier to find and a whole lot cheaper.

All the glass and marker lights are fine and the fancy chrome cap is unhurt it's just got a big hole in the corner of the housing.

Thanks for the help ,

Jeff

I've always just bought the full power replacements off eBay.

I'd also thought of doing that but wondered how well they match the factory part, or did you put aftermarket units on both side and sell the remaining good factory mirror to cover the costs?

You will have to pull all the wiring the gears and slides out, it was a total pain not breaking the plastic.
