I heard from the wheeling world that us toyota guys can swap out or whimpy alternators. I got an 1980 20r and was wondering what year and what will need to be done to make it work. I want the most amp I can get. So please let me know what I can do and where to get what I need. Thanks David

Basically anything in the SI case style you can make work. Go to Summit Racing and shop around. Usually you can get about 100 amp alt for like $80 or so if you dont get something super bling. Should be a V belt and the same basic mounting system. Just some washers (or tube) for spacers, and the wiring.
