Tapping DOM

Is anyone in the puyallup area that can tap a piece of DOM to 3/4-16, the DOM is 1 1/4 OD .220 wall I think.

Dean at Bent Metal Customs is in Puyallup and can set you up with whatever you need. However, it's my understanding that 1.25 DOM with 1/4 inch wall is going to be too large to get threaded as .750. You might think about going to a threaded, weld in bung.

Oops my bad I think it's 1 1/8" DOM, by .220, whatever it is Its already been tapped for the 3/4-16 for a full size and I need to shorten it to waggy narrow width.

So a weld in bung is not an option for what I have

3/4-16 is a .75 dia by 16 threads /inch...at.220 wall you are talking 2 threads at the most, not enough to be worth a damn...You may wanna rethink a insert of sorts...

There is nothing to rethink this link will take you to the site where the tie rod was bought and the OD and the ID will work with a 3/4-16 thread

Call Dean at 222-4890.

Just go buy a tap and do it yourself. Then you'll have a tap for later when you need to do it again..
