plus where he was at makes me think there were a few big rock's there at one time.More than likely something happend to those rock's and that's way it was so deep in just that spot..

always look before you leap... if you don't poke a stick at it first... then it's that person's fault for treading water with out checking it out... not saying you dain damage, but some newb. but that sure is a difference in depth...

and for all those who say let mother nature do its thing, just remember that a stock rig WILL find another trail to attempt, and eventually make a bypass, so why not at least look at it to see what, if anything, can be done to avoid a complete trail closure.

and everybody would be wise to remember that their own piles of rolling crap started out MUCH SMALLER and LESS EQUIPPED.

Now it's on the itinerary of 95% of the users.

that is not the "hard stuff". that is the road thru the trees to the wall. i know my truck, and i feel that it is more than adequately equipped to run the trails i run. i was aware that the holes were getting bad, but i had been out there 2 weeks ago, and that hole was nowhere near as deep as it was on sunday. i thought maintaing that "road" would have been considered basic trail maintinence.

as your heading out towards the tree maze, tank trap, and BYS, its the first hole after the creek.

Sounds to me like the solution would be to put a bunch of rock back in it then.

There were no rocks down in there--at least nothing to stop the hole from getting bigger. Look at that small area and its bottomless dirt with no rock bottom/base like all the other holes to the creek crossing....

The only thingIcan see helping is to get the water to somewhat drain from the hole. and once the weather gets a lil nicer it will help but you gotta remember that whole area stays wet the entire year,....

Those rocks are not small--2 man rocks. Thos type of rocks would probably end up cuasing more problems--aka getting rigs hung up and causing more of a problem... Your going to need smaller rocks unless you get enough to totoaly layer the hole and I can't see that happening....

But boonie if you wanna do it go for it....

I thought that drained over the side of the bank there anyways, what would it be to dig it down to let some water drain?:eeek: (not sure if that is the RIGHT thing to do, but it would help with the dirt/water erosion SOME)

I personally think getting the water out will help from past experiance with this kinda stuff..

But a good example of how deep the dirt is there--look at the hole thats to the one side of it (BYS side)--thats bottomless and just loose dirt...

Not in that section robin--you are thinking on the other side of the creek(between creek and main road). But all the other water holes have a rock base to them and only get so deep and thats it....

in the last pic, you can see where it is possible to go around the hole by staying to the passenger side, but i dont think that will last long. once i got out of the hole, i went to the right, and my LR tire was awful close to the edge of the hole. that is just gonna erode away, and become part of the problem, which leaves one option for less capable rigs, which is making a bypass on the creek side of the trail.
